      • Painting With Wool
Ed's Truck - This piece won a place in Celebrations for Handhooked Rugs Magazine Competition 2019. This is rug hooked using a Miller fine and 27 values of hand dyed black wool yardage. Incorporated in the rug is also alpaca and 12 different black and white wool tweeds.
Strawberry Patch Friends 2021 - This piece was punched in Oxford 13 with hand dyed 100% wool rug yarn. It was a study piece for my students to learn fine shading, multi value-multi color gradations.
The Sphynx - This is a piece punched with hand-dyed wool and alpaca. I was waiting for a great photo of my cat Lui, and I finally scored! Examination of this piece will show great detail in his head turn and how the shadow lines up correctly with his head. Notice the almost crystalline lens of his eye as it reflects off the window light.
Little Boy Fishing - This piece is a tribute to my late son, Zachary, who died by suicide on June 28, 2022. In this piece he is at Salt Marsh in Loudon, NH fishing with the family. He is 3 years old.
Hand dyed wool and alpaca on New Monk's. 18" x 23".
Lui in Pastel - This portrait is entitled Lui in Pastel. This is my 6 month-old Sphynx kitten punched with Oxford 14 fine using hand dyed wool and alpaca on New Monk's.
Disillusionment - This rug was created to teach different color values in the same hue.
Kable in Painterly - This is a precious little dog punched with Oxford size 11 in a painterly method.
Claudia - This was a fun piece created to teach fair skin flesh gradation in 12 values in my rug school.
Illusion - This little piece was born from a painting I did with a brayer. Hooked with wool strips and bound with 100% wool yarn.
Late September - Hand hooked with wool strips and proddy punched petals give this piece a 3-d feel
Pumpkin Ridge - This rug became the namesake for my punching studio in New Hampshire. Rug hooked with hand dyed wool yardage.
Ocean Wave - This cute little picture was inspired by a trip to the beach. Hand hooked in 100% hand dyed wool yardage with metallic and acrylic accents.
Companion Fruit - This piece was made during my classes at McGown Rug Hookcrafter's Teachers Workshop. Rug hooked with a Miller fine and hand dyed rug wool yardage. I gifted this portrait to a very good friend.
